Watch this article in video form: are bellami hair extensions okay for 3c hair? … no, but they’re still really cool by Sarah Moda on YouTube.
The set I bought
I bought the ‘Magnifica’ set in jet black and 24 inches. I also bought the wrap ponytail in the same colour and size. First off, the quality is amazing. I show this in detail and give a little demo on my YouTube channel, so tap the link above to see it for yourself!
The plan
I bought these with the intention to curl them and blend them in with my own hair. Of course, shrinkage is a huge problem for me (would you believe me if I told you my hair is hip length??) so the idea of blending in extensions appealed to me a lot.
Sadly, this idea didn’t work at all. I tried a million methods of curling these extensions, from curling wands and micro-curlers to all sorts of random curling hacks like wrapping the heated extensions on a pencil and leaving them overnight.
The problem
The curls were never tight enough to blend with my own and even with what wave I got (close to a 2a-2b wave), they didn’t last long at all, despite using plenty of products to help them hold. If your hair is in the 3 and 4 ranges, then I would not recommend buying them to curl and blend in with your hair because the curls won’t resemble your own and they won’t hold anyways.
In saying this, the extensions are still great for curly girls. In the picture I attached to this article, I tucked my natural hair back. I clipped in the hair extensions to make it look as though I straightened my hair.
I love the result! It’s great for bad hair days or to simply spice up your look.
