Happy new year beautiful curlies! 🥂 Ok, we know we’re a little late to the party, but let’s just ignore that! Here are our 2025 predictions for all things curly! 2024 was a great year for curl care – we saw lots curly representation, almost every curly now owns the Bounce Curl Brush, Tootilab became viral, Ecoslay launched a powerful strong hold foam and SO much more cool stuff happened!
So, we decided to have some fun and make our curly hair predictions for 2025! It was actually really hard to trim this list down, but we were able to get it down to under 10.
#1 Strong Hold Takeover
Strong hold products garnered major fan bases toward the end of 2024 and we only see this picking up! We mentioned it before, but Ecoslay’s Strong Hold Foam has such a strong hold that it left so many curly girls pleasantly surprised. It actually gives a cast – which is not something foams often do! Putting foam aside, strong hold gels have been taking off and almost every curl brand has been slowly coming out with their own strong hold curl gels.

#2 Gender neutral curl care
Confidence and empowerment is for everyone – regardless of gender! The term “curly girl method” is getting a little outdated. Curls are for EVERYONE! Let’s celebrate and empower everyone to embrace and love their natural beauty.

#3 Longer styles are in
Jayme Jo has set the trends for us curlies! Long gone as the days of short and volumised. She has made length the top goal for many curlies. We’ve also heard so many New Years Resolutions are to grow out curls. We’re definitely getting on board with this one. That’s the beauty of curls – long or short – both beautiful and both so different!

#4 Curls on the big screen
Charli XCX and Chappell Roan boosted a lot of curlies’ confidence (THANK YOU!). We seriously hoping that they have also inspired other celebrities to embrace what makes them uniquely beautiful and flaunt their natural hair!
#5 More love for Australia
One of our favourite curl brands ever, From Duella, won awards for their leave in conditioner last year! We’re sure more awards are coming their way & we are so here for it! We love that we get to bring you the best brands from around the world – but let’s not lose sight of how cool Australian made is too!
#6 Accessible & budget friendly curly hair care
High quality hair care is super cool, but sadly a lot of curlies aren’t aware that high quality curly hair products aren’t always expensive. We’re hoping that 2025 will see an awareness for budget friendly curly hair care that doesn’t compromise on quality.
We put together a HUGE collection of curly hair products under $29, so we really hope that no one feels like there aren’t options for them! Curly hair products should be accessible and inclusive, so we are here to make sure there’s no gatekeeping or exclusivity!
#7 Steering clear of coconut oil
Coconut oil is great for many curlies, but it is too heavy for some curlies and the sad thing is that so many curlies aren’t away of this. Most curly products contain coconut oil, so for the curlies with hair that doesn’t like coconut oil, they often feel left out and like nothing works on them. This is always so sad to hear 💔
We hope that 2025 will result in some ingredient awareness, specially revolving around coconut oil. Just because coconut oil works exceptionally well for 90% of curlies, it doesn’t mean that the remaining 10% should be excluded. We’re trying to raise awareness of this issue and make sure no curly feels left behind.
