A Curly Celebration to Remember!
On Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the beautiful Langham Gold Coast in Surfers Paradise, Curl Fest kicked off in style. This was the very first event organised by both Curly Life (Australia’s largest curl store based on the Gold Coast) and Pretty Curly Girl, making it a landmark day for the Australian curl community.

A Day for Everyone: Games, Glam & Grow
The festival ran from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM (with registration starting at 10:30 AM) and offered an inclusive, all-ages program packed with immersive activities:
-
An inspiring founder talk: “The Pretty Curly Girl Story” by Hanan Bziker-El Fizazi, fresh off a flight from the Netherlands.
-
Fun creative workshops—flower crown making and bedazzling phone cases.
-
A Women in Business panel featuring Hanan and Sara Lianino, celebrating entrepreneurial spirit.
-
A session on curly hair and kids, exploring the joys and challenges of caring for little ones’ curls.
-
A tutorial on braiding and protective styles with Rehema Nabintu and Sara Lianino.
-
Delicious light refreshments, vegan and gluten-free options, plus afternoon tea to recharge.
-
A lively mingle session, final Q&A, and the buzzing moment when the flower crown winner was crowned.
- Lunch & afternoon tea in between panels.
Community Came Together — Near & Far
The turn-out was spectacular.
Curl enthusiasts of all ages joined in the fun—many flew in from interstate, and some even drove over three hours to be part of the community experience.
The atmosphere was electric, filled with laughter, learning, and genuine connection.
Why You Don’t Want to Miss the Next One
Our first Curl Fest was more than just an event—it was a space where education, empowerment, and curl magic converged. Attendees left brimming with knowledge, new friends, and ideas to better care for their curls. And trust us—nobody wants to miss out on the next celebration.
And guess what? There’s more to come! Curl Fest is already planning its return to the Gold Coast, and expanding to other Australian cities—So whether you’re local or visiting, keep an eye out and get ready to reserve your spot.
In summary? Curl Fest 2025 Gold Coast was a day of curl empowerment, creativity, and community—from founders sharing their stories, to hands-on workshops, to sweet moments over tea. The curl community showed up strong—flying, driving, and gathering to celebrate what makes us uniquely beautiful. And with plans underway for more events across Australia, it’s only going to get bigger and curlier.
Stay tuned—because if this first one was any indication, the future of Curl Fest is major – stay up to date here!
