Curls are ever changing! As your hair grows, you’ll notice how your texture also changes. Changing textures is not something be afraid of, instead, you should embrace and make the most out of your changing curls. Curls are fun and versatile.
Changing your routine to match your curl pattern
As your hair grows, you’ll notice that you’ll need to use different products and application techniques. For example, when my hair was shoulder length, I used a thick curl cream that my strands loved. Once my hair got longer, I needed more of the product in order to coat the strands. This ended up weighing down and stretching my curls. I learned that my longer hair needs lightweight products, that way I can comfortably put enough to coat my strands without adding too much weight.
Brand recommendation for all stages of your curl journey
One of the many things I love about Flora & Curl is that their products work for all curl types and lengths. The texture of their styling products (excluding their Sweet Hibiscus Twist & Braid Cream) are lightweight, yet buildable. A small amount can be used for short/fine hair, while more can be used for long/thick hair. Their products effortlessly build without becoming greasy or oily.
Accepting your curls at all stages
Here’s a friendly reminder that curly hair is beautiful – regardless of if it’s voluminous, defined, shiny, frizzy, long, short or stretched. Curls are versatile and you can use your unique strands to express yourself however you like. Products and curl brands are there to help you have fun with your strands while looking out for your hair’s health.
If you’re currently struggling with accepting the changes your curls bring, remember that there is no superior or inferior curl type. All curls are beautiful.
