Although it can be hard to set aside time for a hair mask, regularly committing to it definitely pays off. Ideally, you should aim to do it every 7-10 days. Try not to go past 14 days without a deep treatment. This is what works for my curls, but you'll eventually find a routine that suits yours!
The best way to stick to regularly deep conditioning is by finding a process that suits you. I used to deep condition my hair at random and often went over 14 days without doing a treatment since I had no plan or system in place. Recently, I created a system that works much better for me. I deep condition every second wash day. I normally wash every 4-5 days, so my deep treatments land between 8 to 10 days. I alternate each treatment between an intense hydrating mask and a protein treatment.
I can't recommend regular treatments enough. The benefits make it well worth the extra effort and time. I highly recommend finding a system/routine that works for you. It might take a bit of trial and error, but eventually you'll find a system that works well for you.
