Product Description

Three ingredients: fractionated coconut oil, hibiscus flower and vitamin E. Fractionating takes the heavy fats out, so it stays liquid and absorbs instead of sitting on the strand. Fragrance free and protein free, and it works as a body oil as well as a finishing oil.

Why you'll love it

Three ingredients. Nothing else in the bottle.
Fractionated coconut oil, hibiscus flower and vitamin E. That is the whole formula. Fractionating the coconut oil takes out the heavy fats, so it stays liquid, absorbs quickly and does not sit on the strand the way solid coconut oil does. It is fragrance free and protein free, and it works on skin as well as hair.

What makes it different

  • Fractionated, not whole. Whole coconut oil goes solid, sits heavy and is a common reason curls go stiff. This version stays liquid and absorbs, which makes it usable on far more hair types.
  • Nothing to react to. No fragrance, no preservative system, no protein. If you are working out what your scalp is reacting to, a three ingredient oil is a safe thing to have in the routine.
  • One bottle for hair and skin. Glaze the leftovers over your arms and legs rather than washing them off your hands.

Worth knowing before you buy: an oil this simple seals but does not hydrate. There is no water in it, so used on dry hair it locks the dryness in. It belongs at the end of a routine, over a leave-in or a cream, rather than on its own as a moisturiser.

How to use

A finishing oil for damp or dry hair. It goes on after your styling products, not before them.

  1. Style your hair as usual and let it dry, or work on damp hair once your cream and gel are in.
  2. Apply a few drops to your palms and rub them together to warm the oil before it touches your hair.
  3. Smooth it over the mid-lengths and ends with a light glazing motion, keeping it away from the roots.
  4. Scrunch upwards if you want it to catch the curl rather than sit flat on the surface.
  5. Air dry, or leave it in on already dry hair. There is nothing to rinse and no cast to scrunch out.
  6. Glaze whatever is left over your skin. It works as a body oil as well.

Pro tip
A few drops means a few drops. Fractionated coconut oil spreads much further than a whole oil does, and the most common way people ruin a good wash day is putting a palmful of oil on hair that needed three drops.

Key Ingredients

Hero ingredients

  • Fractionated coconut oil, which is coconut oil with the heavy fats taken out. It stays liquid, absorbs quickly and does not go solid in the bottle the way whole coconut oil does.
  • Hibiscus flower, traditionally used on curls for slip and shine, and the reason the oil carries its colour.
  • Tocopherol, or vitamin E, which keeps the oil from going rancid and adds shine on the strand.
