Buildup on the scalp is the quiet reason a lot of curl routines stop working. Product residue and oil sit at the root, weigh curls down and can leave the scalp itchy or flaking.

Mask-E is a clay treatment rather than a scrub, so nothing abrasive touches your scalp. Kaolin clay binds to residue and lifts it away, while sugar cane and lemon fruit acids loosen dead skin gently.

The reason it does not leave you stripped is the butters. Shea, cupuacu, argan and jojoba go back in as the clay draws out.

Use it as a monthly reset, or fortnightly if you go heavy on gel and cream.

For the best results, follow these simple steps:

1. Start on dry or damp hair, before you shampoo.
2. Part your hair into sections so you can reach the scalp properly.
3. Apply the mask directly to your scalp, not to the lengths.
4. Massage it in gently with your fingertips.
5. Leave on for the time stated on the pack, then rinse thoroughly.
6. Follow with shampoo and conditioner as normal.
