Essentially, it's a combo of a gel and a styling cream in one. Think of it as a thick, creamy and hydrating gel. The main difference between a gel and a custard is that custards are much creamier. The main difference from a styling cream is that custards offer more hold and help to set the curls.

 

When to use it

These work great if you're running short on time or simply want to cut down the amount of product you use. You can use it alone or with other products. Like all elements of living the curly life, it's just about finding what works best for you and what you enjoy most!

 

Who is it good for?

If a curl custard is suitable for your hair depends on how your hair typically responds to thick products. If your hair responds well to products on the thicker side, then your hair will most likely love custards! On the other hand, if your hair doesn't respond well to thicker products, then it's probably best to stay away from custards. Opt for light gels, foams and/or styling creams instead.
